Photo a day......21st January.

Living so near the Solent we often see the Cruise ships departing on Sunday evenings. This is the QE2 passing along the navigable channel between the two forts off Seaview.

(Tomorrow I will post a photo of the Queen Mary from almost the same viewpoint. You will get an idea of their relative sizes from the size of the forts and the distance between!)

Large crowds of holiday makers gather here to watch the famous ones go through.

What a wonderful photo! I had to smile, as hearing of the QE2, reminded me of "Keeping Up Appearances" where Hyacinth talks of it often. :o) I get quite a kick out of that BBC show we get here.

Lottie. We are off on a cruise next month. DH really needs a holiday and cruises are the best for us as you get around but stay put....if you know what I mean!

Libby. I do assure you I feel very privileged to live somewhere so lovely. We wanted to move here for many years and finally managed it.

Flora (Lovely, lovely name!) As for Hyacinth Bucket......I love the actress in any other part but hate this part! But I am glad you enjoy it.....does it remind you of England. There are lots of Hyacinth Buckets around.....we live on an estate with lots of them! One actually said to me one day when having a go about something or other "We have ex Cabinet Ministers on this estate, you know!"
Well....bully for them!

We saw a news report yesterday of a wind surfer on the Solent, in that high wind. Brave or foolish,,hmm, I'll reserve judgement.
Hyacith Bucket was modelled on my Gran I'm sure of it, bless them both.

I have never been on a cruise, I do have a fear of water and only just manage when we go to Ijmuden. Hubby loves ships though so he would love it...we' may manage a sailing from Spain some time, 2 days? Hmm should be OK.
