Dug out the last spuds today

We'd run out of spuds so I went to the plot this morning....it was freezing but not too windy (it really catches it at the plot if there is the slightest breeze). I dug out the last of the spuds....about a fortnight's worth I reckon. That is it now 'til next year.
I also took some leeks and some beetroots.....still plenty left of both those.
The carrots I so hopefully sowed back on 16th September ("Nantes Frubund" supposedly for Autumn sowing) have done nothing as yet. I'd give up on them but don't really need the space yet so I'll chance them a bit longer. It was two whole packets worth of seed so I'm a bit fed up about it.
Still harvesting...
broccoli,
Brussels sprouts (not spectacular and lots have "blown". I thought I had done everything necessary to combat that...but obviously not. Martin next door has lovely ones.....)
leeks,
kale,
fennel,
celeriac,
parcel,
parsnips,
Swiss Chard,
and various salad leaves.
The little cabbages I planted out in the bed at home are still sulking...I think they were a waste of time.

Soon I will start planning this years crops in earnest....I'm looking forward to it immensely.

What kind of soil do you have there on the IOW ? I imagine it is chalky?

Where the plots are is called Sandilands...for good reason. The soil is really open, but also very fertile. It dug beautifully today.

There were other plotholders around digging their plots too.
